Telugu Desam party president, Chandrababu Naidu and other party leaders remanded to 14-day Judicial custody as they refused to take bail. But, they will be kept in Dharmabad ITI for 2 more days.
Chandrababu Naidu should be kept in A+ jail as he is under Z+ category security. Maharashtra has just 2 A+ category jails (Pune & Aurangabad).
This incident created high tense atmosphere in both Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Telugu Desam activists conducted agitations across the state.
Significance: Master stroke by TDP president before Telangana by-elections. TDP which was in third place in many segments suddenly came into limelight. This incident will help TDP to regain cadre base and fight hard in the by-elections. This is a big lesson for TRS party.
