Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu is shifted to Aurangabad jail from Dharmabad ITI. Maharashtra police acted in a inhumane manner while shifting TDP leaders from Dharmabad to Aurangabad jail. All these leaders will be in judicial remand until July 26. Andhra legislators were arrested by Maharashtra police while they tried to visit controversial Babli project. Maharashtra police even manhandled many TDP leaders. They misbehaved even with women legislators. Many legislators even weeped while talking on phone with journalists. Police even dragged Andhra MLAs and MLCs who are in fasting for last 24 hours. No Government in Indian history behaved so brutally with legislators as this Maharashtra Government did. We don't know whether Andhra pradesh is a state in India or not. If we are part of India, why central government is not protecting Andhra legislators when Maharashtra Government failed to protect human rights. I am hoping that National Human Rights Commission will enquire about this incident and take necessary action on Maharashtra police. Are we living in a democratic state? I failed to understand this over-action by Maharashtra police and Government with representatives elected by people. Judicial custody for Chandrababu Naidu
Telugu Desam party president, Chandrababu Naidu and other party leaders remanded to 14-day Judicial custody as they refused to take bail. But, they will be kept in Dharmabad ITI for 2 more days. Chandrababu Naidu should be kept in A+ jail as he is under Z+ category security. Maharashtra has just 2 A+ category jails (Pune & Aurangabad). This incident created high tense atmosphere in both Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Telugu Desam activists conducted agitations across the state. Significance: Master stroke by TDP president before Telangana by-elections. TDP which was in third place in many segments suddenly came into limelight.
